Shiba Inu Hawaii Playdate: TODAY, September 19th at Moanalua Dog Park
What: Shiba Inu Play Date
When: Sunday, September 19 at 4pm
Where: Moanalua Dog Park (see map below)
Who: All Shiba Inu, their Owners, Shiba Inu Enthusiasts, or if you just love the breed!
As always, please don’t forget the following guidelines:
-All dogs must be vaccinated and healthy (let’s keep our new friends safe and well!)
-If your dog is in heat, please leave her at home (but come anyway, and bring pictures!)
-Owners must be in full control over your dogs at all times
-Clean up after your dog (Don’t forget to bring your poop bags!)
Humane Society offers Pet Loss Support Group every 1st Tuesday of the Month

Copper, the Shiba-who-is-not-a-Coyote Update: Manager resigns!
According to news reports…, Regina McDaniel, who misjudged a Shiba Inu for a Coyote has resigned from her position as Franklin County Humane Society manager. Her last day is Tuesday.
Unfortunately, this does nothing for Copper, who is still missing.

Here’s some pictures from yesterday’s hike …with Paws on the Path! There were like five thousand Beagles (not pictured) because the Beagle Club was there and we were a little jealous…but we know more Shiba Inu friends will come with us on the next hike, right?

Hawaiian Kennel Club Dog Show: Updated Schedule
We’ve got the schedule for the Hawaiian Kennel Club Dog Show being held September 4, 5 & 6 at the Neil Blaisdell Center! The Shiba Inu will be competing during the following times:
Saturday, September 4 at 10:45am
Sunday, September 5 at 9:45am
Monday, September 6 at 10:30am
Cost to get in is $5. …
Puppy Farm Investigation Update: no puppy breeders with permits in Hawaii!?
We’re a few days behind in updating the site with the latest in the Puppy Farm Investigation story, so hopefully you’ve been following it on Hawaii News Now…. The news of the undercover puppy farm video featuring abused, mistreated and some deceased animals has lit a fire under pet lovers all around the island.

**UPDATE: The Humane Society has just announced a Dog ‘n Car Wash… on our originally scheduled Puppy Social date. We have decided to move our Event to the following weekend, to support the Humane Society, and it will probably be too crowded to hold a Puppy Social.
