Playdate Rules

Shiba Inu Hawai Playdates are usually held every 3rd Sunday of the month.  Please check our Shiba Inu Hawaii Google Calendar on the right for specific dates.

Playdate Rules:

***All dogs must be vaccinated and healthy (let’s keep our friends safe and well!)

***If your dog is in heat, please leave her at home (but come anyway, and bring pictures!)

***Owners must be in full control over your dogs at all times

***Clean up after your dog (Don’t forget to bring your poop bags!)

Here’s some additional tips for a successful Playdate!

***Before entering the dog park, drain some of your Shiba’s excess energy. Some Shibas have more energy than others (you know who you are!). This can potentially cause problems between dogs playing at the park. Let’s make sure our dogs aren’t over excited when they come to play!

***We suggest walking your dog around outside the dog park first before entering. That way your Shiba can sniff and get a sense of the area (and so can you).

***No one knows your dog better than you! If your dog is getting anxious and/or aggressive, please leash your dog. -AND/OR- We’ve also had success with owners and their dogs leaving the park for a quick walk to “gather their thoughts” and coming back in to play.

Because of large number of Shibas who attend our playdates (usually around 30) — and because we all know how our Shibas can be — we appreciate everyone’s attention to their dog’s behavior as well other dogs at the park (Shibas and otherwise). Our goal as always, is to have fun, so let’s have some!
