Copper, the Shiba-who-is-not-a-Coyote Update: Manager resigns!
According to news reports…, Regina McDaniel, who misjudged a Shiba Inu for a Coyote has resigned from her position as Franklin County Humane Society manager. Her last day is Tuesday.
Unfortunately, this does nothing for Copper, who is still missing.
PetWalk information, and BBQ pictures and video!
We attended the 2010 PetWalk Team Captain’s BBQ yesterday, and we had a lot of fun! More importantly though, we got a whole bunch of information, so we’ll share that first before we get to the BBQ pictures.
The PetWalk, as we’ve mentioned before is the Humane Society’s big annual fundraiser, and this year is the 20th Anniversary and will be held on Sunday, October 3. …
Humane Society Hike: THIS Saturday, August 28th Likeke Trail
This Saturday, August 28, 2010 is next scheduled hike from the Humane Society’s hiking club, Paws on the Path. Here’s the information from the Humane Society’s website…:
Friendly dogs are welcome. Hikes are about three miles, are easy trails classified as beginner or novice, and typically take about two hours to complete.
Humane Society PetWalk Shiba Inu Hawaii Team!!!
The Humane Society’s Annual PetWalk is being held on Sunday, October 3, 2010 this year at Magic Island. This is one of the Humane Society’s biggest fundraisers, and this year is very special not only because it’s their 20th Anniversary of the PetWalk, but because Shiba Inu Hawaii has started their very own team…!

Last weekend, I had my first Professional Photoshoot! Mommy signed me up for Picture Perfect, a fundraiser for the Humane Society–I got a private photoshoot with Joanne from Island Style Images, and the Humane Society… got a portion of the proceeds!

Dear Diary,
I has a friend named Miki. She iz a Cream Shiba Inu, and I met her in the park one day. It was only one of my furst times to the park ever, and she wuz so pretty! I had never seen a dog that looked like me before…except white…so I was really, really, really happy to meet her!!!

PETA… has offered an up to $1,000 reward for any information that leads Copper back to her owner!
“Copper needs to be home with the people who know and love her,” says PETA Director Martin Mersereau. “We hope that someone will find Copper so that she can be reunited with her family.”
Awesome!

Humane Society Fundraising Event: Picture Perfect
Island Style Images is offering $40 private photo sittings… for pets and their owners on July 24th. All proceeds will go towards the Humane Society and the work that they do. Did you sign your Shiba Inu up yet? Katsumi’s got her appointment scheduled, and she’s working on her fitness to look good for the big day!
